• Ceramic Tile– This type of tile is versatile, solid, and strong. While it is typically used in kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms because it is water resistant, it can be used in any room. It is easy to clean with a sponge or mop and is advantageous because dust and other allergens do not stick to it. This flooring is so solid that it can last for hundreds of years, but if a tile happens to get a crack, it is easy to replace.
• Porcelain Tile– This is a type of ceramic tile, but it is even stronger and more water resistant. It is also mainly used in rooms prone to water spills like kitchens and bathrooms, but can be used for flooring in any room. Like ceramic tile, it is very easy to maintain and clean. However, it can be more brittle than regular ceramic tile, so it can crack more easily. The tiles can be replaced easily, though.
• Travertine– This is actually made of limestone, so it is technically natural stone flooring, but it comes in tile form. It comes in earth tones and needs to be sealed regularly, making it less versatile in the rooms it can be used in. This flooring is also easy to clean by using a damp mop. If this flooring becomes damaged, it is not as easy to replace because the whole tile has to be broken up to be removed.
